    • Xtreme-DI and RMB Motor Works develop custom direct injection specific Ecoboost 3.5 V6 Gen 1 & Gen 2 camshafts

      Ecoboost tuning is becoming very popular and for those pushing the limits these cams from Xtreme-DI that are being distributed by RMB Motor Works are worth looking at. Xtreme-DI states the design is based around working with their upgraded HPFP's (high press fuel pump) for the Ecoboost.


      The Xtreme-DI HPFP pumps are well known in the Ecoboost world and RMB Motor Works does some impressive 3.5 Ecoboost builds so the partnership here makes plenty of sense. RMB did a custom grind that is paired to an XDI-60 pump with what they say is an Xtreme-DI lobe grind:

      With the additional lift and duration, we will see really nice gains on this particular build. Especially lighting off turbos and having some spray. These also have an @xtreme.di hpfp lobe grind and a xdi 60.
      It seems with an XDI-60 pump and these cams not only will the direct injection fuel system accommodate what is a teased 1000 horsepower but there are some large power gains to be had.

        Just to better explain how these work. The camshafts help quite a bit with fueling:

        Our diy bolt on pumps add 63% piston area (bore) and pressure capability. The camshafts add more stroke. This is our #xdihpfp80 package, ads 80% pump capacity.

        The pump needs to be adjusted in a couple spots to be able to handle the increased stroke, especially at increased rpm.
